Ironically enough, Agua Escondida, which means the place of hidden water, does not have a water source anywhere in the community. Settled on the mountainside close to Antigua, Aguas is the home to many who live in poverty with little access to clean water and other resources. A lot of the homes are tin or wooden construction with dirt floors. The Lord has opened the door for us to begin ministry here this year. We have started a weekly Women's and Kids Bible Study and Feeding Program to help share the Gospel to those living in this area.

Our outreaches consist of intentional discipleship with the women and children, beginning each bible study with worship and prayer. Everyone receives a vitamin and the kids get a snack after their devotional. We have a weekly bible verse for the kids to memorize to help them remember scripture and when they are able to recite the verse, they receive a small goodie bag with candy, snacks, toys and/or healthy treats. 

 

The Lord has continued to expand the Feeding Program by allowing our numbers to grow over 100 families. This cost is approximately $450 per month. Our hope is to provide them with vitamins and a food for balanced meals that will help promote good overall health.

Each day we serve in the community, we offer free medical care to the women and children. So far our team has been able to offer treatments and checkups from severe burns to offering nutritional programs for expecting mothers. We are grateful for this opportunity and recognize the responsibility that comes along with this type of ministry.  God has provided our team with not only qualified people but hearts full of compassion for those in need.
