Host a Mission Team in Guatemala

About The Experience

Mission teams with Hands of Hope are built around relationship, not quick projects. We host mission teams in Guatemala that serve alongside local communities through long-term partnerships.

This experience is designed for churches, small groups, families, and individuals who want a faith-based mission trip that is thoughtful, guided, and deeply relational.

✅ All-Inclusive Cost

Hosting a mission team is a meaningful commitment of time, resources, and leadership. We take that seriously. Our goal is to make mission teams in Guatemala an experience that is worthwhile, accessible, and sustainable for churches and individuals. Cost is part of good stewardship, not something to avoid or gloss over.

Team base costs varies based on group size, length of stay, and season. Pricing includes housing, meals, local transportation, and on-the-ground leadership.

⛔️ Not Included

While your base cost covers your daily logistics, the following items are the responsibility of the team or individual. Airfare and personal expenses are not included. We work with you to build a clear, realistic budget so there are no surprises along the way.

  • The Base Cost is dedicated to your essential ground support, specifically your lodging, food, and in-country travel.

  • Your stay will be at the secure HOHI Mission House.

Some rooms can host up to 8 people. There are a total of 5 rooms. We can host up to 32 people at one time.

  • Freshly prepared meals daily by our in-house kitchen staff.

  • Private team bus/van, fuel, and driver for all ministry outings.

  • Pick-up and drop-off at La Aurora International Airport (GUA).

  • Full-time HOHI missionaries and leadership staff accompanying your team to translate, lead, and guide your experience.

* Please note these costs are only an estimate. Because project material prices (wood, concrete, metal) fluctuate and itineraries are customized to your team's specific focus, the final cost will be shared and confirmed before any bookings are made.

Did You Know?

Because we prioritize long-term relationships and community rhythms, the number of mission teams we host each year is limited. Team availability depends on timing, group readiness, and the needs of the communities we serve. Once a season is full, teams are scheduled for a later date or placed on a waitlist. This helps ensure every team is well-supported and every community is served with care.

  • Flights to and from La Aurora International Airport (GUA) are not included.

  • We recommend bringing cash for souvenirs (like Guatemalan blankets), coffee, or snacks during travel days.

  • We highly recommend every team member purchase international travel insurance for the duration of the trip.

  • Entrance fees for special tourist activities outside the standard ministry itinerary (such as hiking Mt. Pacaya with a horse) may require an additional cost.

How You Can Plan

Planning a mission trip to Guatemala starts with a conversation. That’s it. We talk through your goals, group size, timing, and who’s coming. From there, we help you plan next steps, preparation, and expectations so nothing feels rushed or unclear.

Whether this is your first church mission trip or your tenth, you won’t be figuring it out alone

We know this is an important decision. Here you’ll find clear answers about sponsorship, communication, travel opportunities, and what to expect along the way.

  • We provide a "fully scheduled itinerary." Your week is intentionally designed to combine evangelism, discipleship, and hands-on outreach. From morning devotions to construction projects and evening debriefs, we handle all the logistics so your team can focus entirely on ministry.

  • No. Our full-time HOHI leadership team accompany your team throughout the week to translate, lead, and guide your experience. We bridge the language gap so you can focus on building relationships and sharing the Gospel.

  • Yes. We work with you to customize your itinerary based on your team's gifts and budget. You can choose to focus on humanitarian aid (like home building or stoves) or relational ministry (like VBS, sports camps, or medical clinics).

  • Your team will stay at our secure Mission House. We offer shared "Mission Suites" with bunk beds to foster community, as well as private suites for leaders. It is a safe, welcoming home base designed for rest and connection.

  • Your "Base Cost" covers your stay, food, and transport. The funds for construction materials (wood, concrete, stoves, etc) are raised separately by your team. This ensures that 100% of your project donation goes directly to the materials used to bless a family in need.
