You will engage in thoughtful dialogue with mentors and colleagues to understand the "why" behind the work

You will interview pastors, community leaders, and staff to gain perspective on leadership, community needs, and full-time ministry challenges.

Focus on accountability, character development, and "serving in the small things"
Roles and responsibilities
This is a hands-on position. You will assist in the developmental phases of building a mission organization while engaging in specific outreaches.
Ministry & Outreach
Community Development: Assist in nutritional programs (vitamin distribution), home construction, stove installations, and water filter projects.
Education: Create lesson plans for Bible studies (preschool to teen), prepare kids' devotionals, and find biblical references for lecture classes.
Medical: Prep medical kits and oversee medical roles during outreaches.
Leadership & operations
Team Hosting: Assist in hosting short-term mission teams, including prep work, meal logistics, and leading team outreaches
Communications: Clearly communicate the HOHI vision and write blog posts about your experience serving as a foreign missionary

No past experience in missions is necessary. We do require a christian testimony submission with your application.

The standard internship is a 3-week intensive program. However, we also offer an 8-week option specifically designed to fulfill college internship requirements.

You will be staying at our Mission House in San Cristobal Mixco, Guatemala, which serves as our base for ministry.

Yes. We offer an 8-week option specifically for students looking to fulfill college internship requirements. We utilize a structured Internship Workbook that includes interviews, leadership development, and service tasks to track your professional growth.

Yes, fundraising is permissible and highly encouraged. We recommend setting a target fundraising goal of $2,500 to cover your program fees and additional travel expenses.
