Paul always reminded his followers that he remembered them in prayer and often would ask for prayers in return.
“Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving; meanwhile praying also for us...” - Col 4:2-3
From the heart of a Missionary, that loves Missionaries:
During this time of hardship, there is much concern on every side - here are a few comparisons to take into consideration.
• Pastors/Church Leaders are trying to do what is necessary to keep their flock sane and spiritual (changing services to live or drive in church to name a few). People have literally been pulled apart from their normal Sunday and Wednesday fellowship.
Take time to remember this is the feeling your missionaries have when they leave their home church and go to a foreign field.
• Pastors/Church Leaders are having to remind people to give (though online giving, mail or any of the other ways that are available). Some are uncertain if they will get enough to keep up the church.
Take this time to remember that missionaries live off faith, mostly, if not all in-part of donations (praying that God's people continue to give in difficult times).
• Pastors/Church Leaders do have access to the world's greatest doctors, nurses, medical staff, first responders, and national leaders like the President where they can gather valuable information to help them make informative decision.
Take the time to remember that most missionaries are in third world countries - some on the back side of jungles or in cities where the health system cannot even diagnose a common cold much less a major crisis.
America, we are praying for you. Churches, we are praying for you.
Pastors, we are praying for you.
Please remember to pray for us too.
"In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."
